I’m a fan of SOME Christian contemporary music, and I ran across a new song that is so simple and yet so powerful by Mark Schultz called “When Love Was Born.” So maybe I’m partial to songs with beautiful piano parts because my son is fascinated with piano and really taking off with his lessons. But I think this is one worth sharing.
The last line is “I close my eyes and see the night when love was born.” I can really relate to how emotional that sentiment is because I think about what that moment must have been like. Call me weird. Sure, it must have been smelly and noisy and quite the opposite of the serene portrait that is usually painted. But when you consider how epic a moment that was–God sends His son to be like us in the most vulnerable human form–it just gives me goosebumps. This song captures that sense of awe and majesty in His birth.
Watch and see what I mean–
